The Music Marketing Journey PART 1

 Music Marketing Blog Post #1

MEET OUR CREATION!

Moral Bargain
Represented by Rubidium Records (Rb) Through our research, we developed a logo that was stylish and grunge for our fans with a name that was representative of the heavy metal genre...Moral Bargain was born!

BRAINSTORMING "THE LOOK"

Our group was handed a thrilling genre, heavy metal rock! We instantly thought of all the possibilities. Heavy metal is typically targeted toward middle-aged men, but through our extensive research (a portion of our research chart shown above), we found a loophole. In researching the many heavy metal bands, we discovered that although their loyal fan base was middle-aged men, their newer fans were young adults and teenagers. How was this so? Due to the integration of social media and trending merchandise into their marketing plan allowed new fans to find them. And that was it, that was the key to our band pitch.

BRAINSTORMING OUR MUSIC VIDEO

Our team wanted a fitting video to show "This is MORAL BARGAIN!" We thought a promotional music video would be too limiting, an artistic video would not gain enough exposure for our new brand, and a storytelling video may not fit. So, we combined.

We brainstormed on a Google Document decided to do a promotional music video with storytelling elements. Our video uses the song "Blind" by Korn, which we retitled "Cost of Life." Our video focuses on a boy struggling with bipolar disorder with shots of our band.

PLANNING AND PROCESS
Music marketing planning has been an intriguing process.
Each group member has been assigned portions of the projects to facilitate a "marketing team" feel. Although we split up the work, each member was asked to collaborate and assist with other portions, so no member felt overwhelmed. Our group schedule set strict due dates to ensure that we would meet our due date of February 1st, 2022.

My team made merchandise with our logo on it! The merchandise is alluring to young adults.

My team created social media platforms (I.E. TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter)

WHAT'S NEXT?

We have created merchandise, a logo, started our pitch, created social media accounts, and finalized our storyboard. Now it is time to film our music video, edit our video, create a website, and finish our pitch presentation. Although the process has been lengthy, I have full faith that my team and I will create an astonishing music video and presentation. After all, we are an extension of Moral Bargain.
